Exporting rosterdata in CSV format is possible by using the Roster Server Export application, available in the Applications list.
Note: Exported data only includes the data that made it through the validation process. Rows with errors are exuded from Roster Server, and as a result, are excluded from data exports. If you do need the full CSV data set, please contact the ClassLink Help Desk.
If you would like to view the data as it stands in Roster Server, you must manually add the Export application to your Applications.
After you have added it, you are able to set permissions to it as you see fit. If you want a comprehensive list of all your roster data, then you must select "Full Permissions"
Using the Export application is preferable to running imports from the ClassLink application, as the Export application was intended for one-time exports. The ClassLink application must always have full permissions to work in conjunction with OneClick.
We advise against using vendor applications to test CSV exports, as once you set permissions for those applications, the vendors can access the data through our REST API.
The Export application is a safe way to ensure your data looks the way it should inside of Roster Server. It is meant as a way for school districts to test different types of CSV export options with varying permissions.
What if I don't have a local server?
You also have the option of sending data to the DailyImport directory. Just keep in mind that the files will overwrite the original contents of the folder.
If you do not have the rosterdata credentials, you will need to contact ClassLink help desk for the credentials as well as provide your public IP address for whitelisting so you can access your server.
