Workflows is a visual representation of OneSync Events & Actions, actions that are taken when a specific event occurs or criteria is met by a user or form.
A workflow consists of an entry criterion (blue box), and at least one action (red box). Respectively, these are representative of a workflow type and the action to be taken. Criteria (diamond) can be added between the starting point and final action so that actions are only taken if the criteria are true (TRUE branch). The workflow stops at an exit point (red rectangle), either at the end of an action or the end of a False branch.
To begin creating a workflow, start by clicking the starting point label "+Event". Here, you will name your workflow and choose the workflow type. There are two types of workflows: Destination Export and Form Submission. Each type has a different set of actions and criteria to choose from. To read more about Destination Export workflows, click here. And to read more about Form Submission workflows, click here.
You can then add either an Action or Criteria by clicking the blue plus icon. Selecting an Action with no criteria in between will result in the action always be taken for that workflow type. Selecting just a Criteria will result in an action taken only if the criteria are met. Note that an Action is automatically generated with a Criteria, connected by a True branch, and that no actions are taken if the criteria are not met. Selecting a Criteria and then an Action will result in two actions. One action is taken if the Criteria is met. The second action, connected by a False branch, is taken only if the Criteria is not met. When you are finished constructing your workflow, click the green "Save" in the top right-hand corner.
Workflows can be used in conjunction with Forms. To read more about this, click here.
