Analytics, our powerful reporting engine for analyzing logins, application usage, browser/OS used, and cloud storage, has been updated with a new user interface, as well as several new and expanded features. This new version of Analytics will be available by clicking the View button on the dropdown saying 'Try the new analytics experience!'.
As part of our initiative to unify our UI layouts, the Analytics layout has been updated with a new navigation bar. This navigation bar groups the previously separate Logins, Schools, Users, and Browser/OS tabs as pages under one Logins tab.
Schools can now be given custom Tags. These tags, which can be added and edited on a school’s information page, allow for schools to be filtered on the main school's list. For example, the tag ‘Middle School’ can be applied to all middle schools in a district, which allows users to easily view only those schools with a single click.
Tags can be added by clicking on the desired school -> Info -> Edit Info -> Edit Tags -> Choose one of the existing tags or make a new one by clicking the Add New button, then typing in the name of the tag and then clicking the + button -> Finally click on the Apply button on the bottom of the page to save your changes.
You can filter schools with specific tags by simply clicking on the desired tag or clicking on the drop-down menu and then choosing a tag from the list
Analytics is now able to track the different authentication methods that users use to log in to LaunchPad. Similar to the existing Browser/OS charts, a pie chart and table detailing a breakdown of login types can be found under the Logins tab on the Login Types page.
A major new feature that has been added is the ability to track app licenses. This can be found under the Apps tab by selecting an application, then navigating to the License page. Here, license information can be added and edited, including the total Cost, the Number of Licenses users, Professional Development Cost, and the subscription’s Start and End Dates. Additionally, each license can be applied either district-wide or to individual schools, if Roster Server is enabled.
Licenses can be created by clicking on the Add License button at the top of the page -> select which schools the license applies to -> fill in fields -> click on the Save button.
Analytics now allows you to set goals for apps that have licenses. The Actual Percentage will compare how many users have the app implemented on their devices to the number of licenses purchased for that app.
You can enter a goal under the App Implementation Percentage and it will display a goal around the actual percentage and update the Progress to Goal.
The Custom Permissions feature has been expanded upon in this release. Where limited users could previously only see the school pages to which they were assigned, they can now see a limited version of the full website, including login and application statistics.
Another new feature that has been added is the ability to create custom dashboards with multiple tiles from different locations on the full website. Using a drag-and-drop interface, a maximum of 4 custom dashboards can be created per user. This feature is restricted to users with full permissions.
To add a new dashboard next to Overview click the Plus (+) icon and from there you will be brought to the custom dashboard editing page which has options to add a title and to drag and drop charts/statistics.
